The Clymb is an online retailer for outdoor gear and apparel that offers limited-time sales with high discounts. They wanted to bring their online store to the mobile space. Working with Lenoard Yambot (Lead on the project) and J.L Lum, we were able to design and develop a slick, easy to use, mobile retail app for iPhone so their customers can keep up with new products and sales, and purchase anytime, anywhere.
The Clymb wanted to bring their online store to the mobile space.
To create an app that allow users to easily navigate and find what they need quickly and efficiently with important information being surfaced to the user in an effective way.
Using user personas and user stories, we were able to determine what the user needs and motivations were. With these needs and motivations in mind, we created an app map to get a high level overview of all the features that are needed. Next, user flows were created to get an understanding of how a user would navigate through the different key areas of the app.
With all of the grunt work done, we starting wire-framing out the app. As each set of user flow wire-frames are done, we would put the wireframes in to testing with the help of invision (a prototyping tool), to make sure that we can navigate from one screen to the next seamlessly. If it didn’t, we would go through the same process and discuss what we can do better to make the navigation more seamless.
Once all the wire-frames are signed off, using the brand guidelines that The Clymb provided, we took their brand and created high fidelity mock ups of each wire-frame.
The end result?
A well designed and easy to use, mobile retail app for iPhone was launched allowing The Clymb’s customers to keep up with new products and sales, and purchase anytime, anywhere.
